Happy #21 Legoland California...

Legoland California, a theme park located in Carlsbad, opened on March 20, 1999. It was the third Legoland park to open (the first in the US), and was based on the Lego toys my boys grew up loving.

Thanks to the generosity of Steve's mom, we were given inaugural season passes and went on Opening Weekend (21 years ago today). The Park opened with 12 rides and Miniland U.S.A.
I thought this was a fun ride down Memory Lane and thought you'd like it, too.

We went constantly with our passes as our besties had them, too, though we haven't been back since. Our kids outgrew it before it grew itself.

"North America’s first LEGOLAND® theme park has grown into a multi-day destination with more than 60 rides, shows and attractions, a 10-acre water park, two-story aquarium and two interactive LEGO® themed hotels."

Maybe it's time to take the next generation there. It would be interesting to see how this 21 year old has grown up. Fun stuff!

Oh how quickly time goes by. It is hard to believe that Legoland has been open for so long! I didn't go for many. many years later. I was 19 when it opened, so I didn't have a ton of interest.
I am interested now, though! :)
