Wildflowers are in bloom...

We were told the wildflowers in the Piano Grande of the Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini had just bloomed so we ventured into new terrain for us and delighted in the vibrant colors of the flowers. This immense mountain plateau is famous for the stunning kaleidoscope of colors it offers those fortunate visitors from all over the world who come here specifically at the time of the fioritura... the flowering of millions of wildflowers covering the entire plateau. The gorgeous yellow lentils are still my favorite  This was a nice way for us to end Monica's first visit to Umbria.
