Foligno for the Passiegata...

A town located north of us, Foligno has a beautiful historic center and last night we did our evening stroll there.  We stumbled upon a private Renaissance Faire, as the town prepares for its Quintana (a horse race that dates back to the 17th century and one we will not be in town to see).

The town's biggest claim to fame is its first printing shop opened by Emiliano Orfini. It was here, in April 1472, that Dante's Divine Comedy, the first book printed in the Italian language, was published by Johann Neumeister, a pupil of Gutenberg.  Each of these quaint Umbrian towns holds treasures waiting to be discovered.

Once again, I love the night shots!
Looks like a fun. I imagine the Renaissance Faire in Europe is not as creepy as the ones in California...
