Our hike leads to hitchhiking...

This morning we headed to Monteluco- a mountain that holds millennia of religious history. Its geographical peculiarities, the richness of the wood, the diffused presence of water and the very nature of the soil, have made it a privileged space for a life of prayer and meditation and one of Steve's favorite paths.

Our hike through the Scared Woods kept threatening with an ominous storm as I struggled through the 1200 foot elevation change.  While having a picnic, thunder, lightning and rain began.  While we huddled in a park 'Bar', Giovanni, the sweet Italian man next to us, offered to give us a ride back to Spoleto.

The rain poured as we raced for our apartment...we were the only people crazy enough to be running in the deluge.  What an interesting adventure.

Crazy Americans, not enough sense to get out of the rain! Thanks for the updates on the children.
