Cruise Day #5: At Sea

Mar 19

For those who have never cruised, a Day at Sea can be quite relaxing or completely exhausting, it just depends on the cruiser. Ours tend to be a combination of both.

We discovered a couple of cruises ago that room service coffee, at 6 AM on our balcony, is one of the best things about cruising.

Since we were up so early, we had the opportunity to watch the crew practice their lifeboat skills. There was something very comforting about that!
Oh my gosh, we are so not Swifties! We did terrible at Taylor Swift Trivia. All the 10 year old girls, and their Moms, did fantastic. We did get two right. We knew that she was named after James Taylor and we were able to identify Shake It Off by the first few notes. We learned so much about her including the first and last names of her three cats!
The Sexiest Man Contest was a riot and when a disabled man was chosen the victor, I got teary. What fun.
A thorough introduction to Aussie culture came in the form of the game show Majority Rules. In this game, ten questions were asked and the audience submits answers. The most common response wins. We were the majority in only two questions: 1. The Sexiest Australian Female- Elle McPherson, 2. The Most Famous Australian Film- Crocodile Dundee. One of the funniest things we learned was about the famous, fictional Drop Bear. What a great way to gain knowledge about a place... hanging out with 'locals' while playing this game!
After a delightful dinner, we went to the fabulous show- James Bustar. This comedic juggler had everyone constantly laughing.

So talented and so creative... this was an entertaining end to our day at sea.

"It isn't that life ashore is distasteful to me.
But life at sea is better."
