Filling the last day to its fullest...

We had so much we wanted to share with Brenton and Christy that we really filled our day with non stop fun.  Lunch at the Friday Farmers' market, a tour of our favorite church- San Salvatore, card games at our favorite hilltop bar...  After a well needed early nap, we strolled around the grounds of our 14th century rocca (fortress).

Dinner was in the wonderful, ancient village of Bevagna at  "Il Mercato delle Gaite",  a faithful revisitation of daily life in the Middle Ages. We learned a great deal about book making at one of the recreations of a typical work-shop of those times.  Meandering along the cobblestone streets, picturing life the way it was in the medieval setting, provide an idyllic end to the amazing week.

As we prepared to drive away, the field in which we were parked was alight with fireflies.  We had just discussed how we hadn't seen any here in Italy and not only did Christy see her very first lightning bug, she held one in her hand... magical.
