The Alphabet of Winter 2018...

Needing to read something in my writing group this morning, I wrote this at 5:30 AM. It is the response to Steve being absent, two years in a row, during big storms.

About time! (we hadn't had a good snowstorm yet)
Breathtaking views
Capable is the new pretty (a text from Steve)
Delightful to stay home
Encouraged by many
Feared of awaking to new, deep snow
Grateful for the needed storm
Happy to have guests visit
Intense at times
Justified downtime
Kindness of strangers
Loving Tahoe regardless/because of the weather
Mountain Woman success
Never a dull moment
Onslaught over two days (two feet of snow, at least)
Proud of myself
Quiet moments alone
Romantic comedies
Snowblower vs shovel
Tea, lots of tea
Underestimated my abilities
Visions of winter beauty appreciated
Wrangler of snowblower/shovels/chains
Xenacious [Definition: filled with yearning for change]
Yardmaster
Zealous appreciation of Steve's return

"Snow was falling,
so much like stars
filling the dark trees
that one could easily imagine
its reason for being was nothing more
than prettiness.”
