Steve returned home yesterday and there is no better cure for missing Tahoe than getting out in it.


Birding was an added bonus to being lakeside.



I spotted two new species for the Tahoe Big Year, including this darling Killdeer.

We observed numerous and various critter tracks in the fresh snow. It was a bit like National Geographic out today.

There was something unique to be found, everywhere we looked. I thought this 'eye' on an Aspen was so cool. Great, great day of exploring in our own backyard.

I have some to add to my Oceanside Big Year list!
The Buena Vista Audubon Society in Oceanside is amazing by the way.
