Charming Charleston...
According to the Spoleto program, "The Chamber Music Series has always been the heart and soul of the festival. No visit to the festival is complete without having attended at least one or two of these concerts."
Since Sunday is our last day as part of all this, we thought we must get to this series. Each day's program is written on a chalkboard in the morning...the music du jour...and what a sumptuous entree it was served in an incredible setting, the newly renovated, historic Dock Street Theatre.
We were treated to a delightful lunch at the Carolina Yacht Club by Curtis and his son, Aiden who we met because of our involvement with the Spoleto-Charleston Initiative. It was an idyllic setting and perfect respite between ushering assignments. Southern hospitality exemplified.
Mozart's powerful Symphony No. 40 was the highlight of the afternoon's Intermezzo that was a flawless ending to another charmed Charleston day.
