Happy Father's Day! How did you celebrate?

Big Father's Day for us spent with my nephew, Brett, his wife, Melanie and my great nephew, Elliott.  It began with a sumptuous breakfast on their patio followed by a delightful stroll along the Licking River.

Lunch was in Granville.  The Township was surveyed in 1797 as part of the U.S. Military District.  These were lands set aside for those who had served in the Revolutionary War.  Quaint and very fun.  A polo match followed lunch at  the historic Bryn Du mansion which has dominated the landscape for over 100 years. Its colorful history, and the history of the families that lived here, add to the rich environment and provide a wonderful place to spend the afternoon.  Plus none of us had ever seen a polo match.  Something to add to our "firsts" list.  FUN.

A cheesy photo stop occurred at the The Longaberger Company's Home Office which really is a basket! Actually, the building is a replica of the Longaberger Medium Market Basket, only 160 times larger.  Wild!

Ice cream in downtown Westerville and then the rest of the day was spent at the Saffell home.  Talking and playing.  Kegan was the awesome older cousin and Elliott was the delightful young boy whose energy would not stop!  Night fell and we didn't want it all to end.  We loved every moment of today!
