Located at the cool Hotel Alyeska Pond Courtyard, we gathered for a celebration of the lush blueberry season at the 10th Annual Blueberry Festival. This was truly a family-oriented outdoors event which featured free live music, berry picking, local arts & crafts booths, tasty blueberry treats, a beer & wine garden, hiking and biking, a pie eating contest, a blueberry creations contest and so much more!

The kids' pie eating contest was hysterical!



We saw several bands perform at this amazing venue. Wow.
Our favorite of all the musicians was Jessica Meuse.

Not only was she an exceptional singer/songwriter, a lot of fun and very entertaining, it turns out we were fans of hers three years ago, too. Jess came in 4th on the 13th season of American Idol. She was our favorite that season, as well as today. Wow! So very cool.
What else did we love? Oh man... the sun. We have been cold for weeks. While the temps may have read 55°, when the clouds cleared our skin got exposed. Woo hoo. I know most everyone reading this is experiencing heat but we left summer quite a while ago and loved whatever warmth came out today.

We continue to delight in all the treats Alaska throws our way!  We ♥ our 49th State.
