Tourism is best when it is paired with history, hence the trip to the town of the "Jewel of the Missions".
Mission San Juan Capistrano (1776) has been the home to many people over 237 years of history. Its history consists of memories and stories of its past inhabitants and present visitors. It is a place of historical, cultural, and religious significance, as well as a place of inspiration and education.
We strolled about the town, discovering.
We delighted in crossing the train tracks and exploring the Los Rios Historic District for the very first time. This unique area comprises one of the oldest continuing neighborhoods in Orange County, and includes three adobe homes built in 1794 for Mission families. What an awesome history experience.
The Butterfly Habitat was a special surprise.
I am especially proud of this hummingbird photo.
Lunch was with my girlfriend, Cindy, on the San Clemente Pier at the Fisherman Restaurant.
Grilled shrimp tacos, an incredible view and the opportunity to catch up with Cindy... what a day! Oh, and it was close to 100°.
