Rafting in the Valnerina...
On the riverbank at the edge of the picturesque village of Scheggino (population of 460) is Valnerina Adventure and our location for a day of rafting and friendship.
Our friends, Maurizio and Guenda gathered a group of 11 to learn proper rafting techniques and then meander down the Fiume Nera through the very ruggedly beautiful valley of the Valnerina. "Men have, since ancient history, obstinately inhabited the valleys and plateaus of Valnerina".
Our guide, Gulio, was informative about the history of the river and was a great deal of fun. Dry clothes and a delightful lakeside dinner followed to make the day deliciously complete.
