A drive through the countryside...
The morning was one of our prettiest yet, so we went for a drive to Monteluco, a place of great spiritual, as well as scenic interest. St. Francis stayed here in 1218 and founded a primitive convent at the edge of the "sacred wood".
The path of our explore took us to small hamlets and vast hilltops. It was breathtakingly beautiful around each turn. One of the things we love about Umbria is its diversity in nature, culture and history and it is all within a day's outing. It has many Etruscan sites and medieval hill towns, but it also has nature parks, one of Italy's largest lakes, and an interesting mummy collection. What more could we want? We really have no need to leave "The Green Heart of Italy".

Hey ! You found our Pig Model !
Did you realize that right about the words "The morning was one of our prettiest yet" there is a picture of a pigs butt? It threw me off!
I love the picture of the woods with the sun coming through the trees. Is that taken in black and white. It is very artsy!
