Five Liter Wine Flagon???

After days of picking and many more days of rain delays, Eve's 343 kilos (756 lbs.) of olives have made it to press.  Here's her report:

Well, there we are . . . 55 litres of beautiful, green oil. Had to provide an extra 5 lt wine flagon to accommodate it all.  Very pleased.

I have a lot of admirers at the frantoia due to the pristine condition of my olives!  The yield was 15%. Quite good.  Very interesting process. Absolutely cold pressing...  took five hours, start to finish. That is not counting the many man hours put into picking, never mind the rest of the mollycoddling the trees get throughout the year!

I have now had my bruschetta and new oil . . . and Tosca has had hers as well. Your turn will come!  Glad it is all done . . . raining again! Thank you  again for all your help.  See you soon, Eve  x

Cool olive oil update. You must be good at picking olives, since they were 'pristine'. Is the yield % the weight of the oil compared to the weight of the olives? Where is Eve from? I didn't realize she spoke English (which is not good for working on your Italian!).
