Dinner at 8 for 8!

Our day ended at Laurie and Norma's for dinner and dancing.  The meal was many courses but my favorite was the Cottage Pie, a traditional British dish dating back a hundred years further than the more well known, Shepard's Pie.  Laurie's mincemeat dish with a crust of mash potatoes was sumptuous.

We haven't dance at a dinner party in a very long time and we laughed more than anything.  Laurie's son, Jonathan acted as the DJ with a wonderful selection of music from the 80s.  I was happy.

In addition, Eve brought us our reward for olive picking... a generous supply of the most delicious "liquid gold".  It is absolutely not going to last long, but we will savor every drop.

Our hosts have introduced us to so many interesting people.  Our Spoleto life is so much more because of them.

"Eating is not merely a material pleasure.
Eating well gives a spectacular joy to life and contributes immensely
to goodwill and happy companionship.
It is of great importance to the morale."
Elsa Schiaparelli, Italian designer (1890-1973)

Hey, I just noticed that the Olive Oil has a 'personal label' on it just for you !! How nice of them to do that ! You'll have to bring the empty bottle home, since they prob won't let you bring it full.

That olive oil looks for opaque. Very difference from the olive oil I use for cooking. It must have amazing flavor!
Looks like in that last picture you had one tsp of olive oil too many!
