Tahoe Friend's Visit: Part 1

I'm not quite sure when my acquaintance with Sharon transitioned into a friendship but I'm so delighted it did. The added benefit is the fact that the relationship included her daughter, Erin, too! This weekend they came to Temecula for a long awaited visit.

After settling in and having a delicious lunch at home, we concluded our Friday afternoon at Cougar Vineyard & Winery. The warm sun was just too tempting to not bask out in it.

I absolutely love Tahoe but how can it currently compete with this tableau? This photo was taken at 2 PM on January 12th.
Cougar is known for its Italian varietals so we continued the theme back at home with a light charcuterie plate for our dinner. Yum.
Our busy Saturday is what makes this visit have to be in parts. There was just so much that we accomplished, starting with a fabulous stroll through the Farmers Market. These gorgeous flowers are actually dyed kale stalks!

There was certainly a lot of fungus among us. I am always so intrigued by what people will eat.

Smiles were evoked with this macaroon. What fun. Lunch was at my favorite little French bistro, Le Coffee Shoppe. Part 2 will share the rest of the morning, while the finale will document our exceptional evening. Wow, indeed!
