PHOODLE: Are you Playing?
Erin is a foodie and introduced me to a new game, PHOODLE. There have been many Wordle spin-offs but the food-themed Phoodle may be the best yet. It is the brainchild of cookbook author Julie Loria, who develops her food vocabulary on a daily basis as a writer.
"Test your culinary expertise by guessing a food-related term, from ingredients to appliances to famous chefs and more!" she wrote. What I appreciate is that the words are defined. For instance, OPERA seems a strange word for a culinary game but according to PHOODLE, "The Opera Cake is a classic French pastry, named after the Paris Opera for its intricate layers resembling the tiers of an opera house."
"The bagel SCOOP controversy is a heated battle between purists who defend the chewy integrity of untouched bagels and innovators who dare to hollow them out in pursuit of a low-carb experience, creating additional space for the cream cheese."
Phoodle works exactly like Wordle. You have to guess the hidden five-letter word in six guesses. With each guess you make, the game displays whether the letters you have entered appear in the hidden world and where. A nice touch is a confetti shower when eventually you get the right answer. I do love confetti!

So glad you are enjoying Phoodle. My day is not complete until I have done Wordle, Phoodle and Connections.
