Our Road Home: Washington's Wonders

We have concluded our month long sojourn in Coeur d'Alene and we are now home after a two day road trip. Here are some images of the sights we saw during our far too quick tour of Washington. WOW.

We chose to take the back roads and we were rewarded with the most amazing small towns, seemingly frozen in time.

Brunch was enjoyed on the patio of The Maple Counter in the 'must return to' town of Walla Walla. Al Jolson is said to have visited Walla Walla and called it "the town so nice they named it twice." I felt the same way.
A highlight for me was stopping to admire these beautiful, yellow fields in full bloom. I never would have guessed they were canola.  With over 40,000 acres, it wasn't surprising that I was pleased. Bursts of color exploded for miles... Just another reason to love Washington!

Our trip was a great success and I'm beat. More when the travel dust settles and the bags are unpacked.

“Once you have traveled, the voyage never ends, but is played out over and over again in the quietest chambers. The mind can never break off from the journey.” -Pat Conroy
