Emerald Bay & Squaw... What a Day!

When a beautiful day is given to you, you really have to just go for it!

Today was one of those days and the plan was to hike the one mile down (three miles up) path to the shore of Emerald Bay. The last time we did this trek was almost two years ago, April 7, 2019 (pictured above).
The new, healed me was ready for the adventure. And what a delightful adventure it was! We enjoyed all the quiet bay had to offer.
We were pleased with all the new signage, helping travelers find their way.
Vikingsholm, nestled in the pines, lived up to its nickname Tahoe's Hidden Castle.

This recently fallen tree became quite the balance beam for many of the visitors. Though it always makes me sad to see a giant pine lost.
While picnicking, we witnessed a wedding proposal happen aboard The Bleu Wave. Very romantic (and a little emotional).

We tried to walk to Eagle Falls but the path was pretty icy and we weren't taking any chances.

𝅘𝅥𝅮Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' comes
Watching the ships roll in
Then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah
I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time𝆕
Well, we didn't sit until the evening came, we headed to Squaw Valley Resort to watch skiers, drink some coffee and revive memories of all the previous fun we've had there.
We definitely went for it and it was great! Day #5... unforgettable.
“Coffee is a lot more than just a drink;
it’s something happening. Not as in hip, but like an event,
a place to be, but not like a location,
but like somewhere within yourself.
It gives you time, but not actual hours or minutes,
but a chance to be, like be yourself, and have a second cup.”
