Knott's for Chicken On Its 75th...

We awoke yesterday at 3 AM and headed to the LA area for a meeting Steve had that night. I agreed to go if he took me to Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant for lunch.

I have been coming to Knott's most of my life. These two 'friends' were as close as we could get to Ghost Town since we weren't going into the park.

Being as we aren't fans of fried chicken, we always share the Chicken Pot Pie, a flaky crust pot pie filled with tender pieces of chicken and garden vegetables topped with chicken gravy. In addition you get corn, an ample supply of the best biscuits and a piece of boysenberry pie all for $21.99 (now you know why we split this meal).

In 1941, Walter Knott set out to build a small diversion for hungry guests waiting for a table at his wife, Cordelia's, Chicken Dinner Restaurant.  The overwhelming popularity of the restaurant and adjacent Ghost Town led to the creation of the Knott's Berry Farm that exists today, 75 years later- America's first amusement park!
And just for fun, that's me behind the post in Ghost Town, 50 years ago. I still love Knott's.
