Drives, a tavern & a baseball game...
The morning began with an explore of Virginia and Maryland's back roads and scenic countrysides. First stop: White's Ferry... a cable ferry service operating across the Potomac River since right after the Civil War, by former Confederate officer, Elijah White. What a unique way to experience the River.
Lunch found us in Upperville, VA at the Hunter's Head Tavern (1750) where we dined on traditional British foods, outside in the glorious sunshine.
To finish off a great day, we took the Metro into D.C. and attended a Nationals baseball game. It felt like an idyllic summer evening. We had phenomenal seats. Great food. And were thoroughly entertained. While the Nats did not win, we enjoyed it none-the-less.
