After having a busy couple of days, we decided to hang out in our "hometown" Kailua.
Turquoise water and fine white sand have made Kailua Beach a favorite of locals and visitors alike. Add a dash of city chic, and you have Kailua Town. Located on Oahu’s Windward Coast, the main part of Kailua Town consists of a few blocks of trendy boutiques, popular restaurants and kamaaina (resident) hangouts- like the Sunday morning farmers’ markets.
Local color, great music, fabulous people watching and delicious food... this was THE place to spend our Easter Morning.
After doing some needed laundry (we only do carry-on luggage so underwear gets scarce by Day #6) we headed to the ÜBER awesome Lanikai Brewing Company, an Island Inspired® authentic Hawaiian craft beer company making 100% of their brews here in Hawaii. They take their cues from premium, local, rare, and exotic ingredients found across the Pacific to bring bold and flavorful beers found nowhere else. Pour a nice solid head to breathe in the flowers and fruits, the same aromas carried by our gentle trade winds. It’s paradise in a bomber bottle, best shared with friends.
The promise of an afternoon of rain finally came, so we headed to our lanai, opened some wine and delighted in the storm that happened right in front of us. We sit outside every day and feel like we're in our own little treehouse! "The grass is always greener underneath a coconut tree."

Denise, I think your hair has grown 10 inches since you left for Hawaii...wish I was on your balcony enjoying...whatever you are drinking!!
Your place seems magical! The most ideal place to watch a storm! You always see the wine glass half full, don't you. ;)
A farmers market is a great way to better explore the culture. Great idea! The fruits look so yummy. But I am afraid I wouldn't know how to eat them!
