SoCal Friends' 22 Hour Visit...

Our friends, Keri and Russ, recently moved to NorCal and came to Tahoe for their first time for an introductory explore.

Right after arriving and unpacking last night, we all walked to the beach, knowing rain was in the forecast for today. Afterward, the evening was spent barbecuing, playing games and catching up. Plans for next time were discussed as well.

Today was a quick tour. First stop- Inspiration Point for a view of Emerald Bay.
We went to look for spawning salmon at Taylor Creek but we were a week too early. However there were a couple in the Stream Profile Chamber. Fun stuff.
The day's ultimate goal was to attend the 21st Annual Oktoberfest at Camp Richardson's.
Each year we're here for Steve's birthday weekend, and each year the Gruber Family Band gets the crowd to sing to Steve. He looks pretty pleased by it all.

Jack and Anna delighted in traditional German foods.
Miss Marcia's Shining Stars performed for us. It was so precious and quite entertaining.
The high was maybe 50° so I thoroughly appreciated this little family's perseverance.
Keri even entered the Beer Stein holding contest. While she didn't win, we all had fun rooting her on. What a busy, productive 22 hours. Just think what we could have done with more time.
