A century ago, what is now the Tallac Historic Site held the "Grandest
Resort in the World" and the summer retreats for three of San Francisco
Bay Area's socially elite families. Today, the remains of the resort
and the restored estates attract thousands of visitors annually to
recapture this bygone and significant era in Tahoe's history. The
Tallac Historic Site offers something for everyone. It is the perfect place to meander.

We toured the site, studied the exhibits in the museum and chatted with rangers. It was a morning of one, big history lesson, in an idyllic setting. |

We were given a private tour of Valhalla's Grand Hall. Karen commented that it was great to see all the places I have talked about in person. This is one special location. |

A promised stop at Camp Richardson's for ice cream served as lunch! |

One of our favorite memories of last summer was the Ski Run Farmers' Market. Opening night gave promise of fresh food and happy memories. |
Steve and Cyndi came by for a visit. We ended the day listening to each others stories. We delighted in the friendliness and coziness that is Tahoe! What a day.
