Our morning in Innsbruck...

Frommer's does a fantastic job of describing this unique town:

Alpine views are around every corner and ski slopes just a funicular ride from the center. A medieval Old Town is home to imperial palaces, world-class galleries and Zaha Hadid's avant-garde designs. With all this, it's no wonder the Innsbruckers are rather stoltz (proud) of their lot. Sophisticated, good-looking and affluent, the Tyrolean capital walks a fine tightrope between the urban and the outdoors, the historic and the cutting edge -- and pulls off the act beautifully.

We began our visit in the Altstadt...Old Town in the Market Hall.  We delighted in the items we found 'different'.  Pörnbacher, nicknamed 'the royal vegetable', is grown around Pörnbach, Germany.  They are very proud of this asparagus in Innsbruck.  Its name and shape had us giggling like teenage boys (apologies to all teenage boys reading this).

Schnapps is another regional specialty so Steve had to give it a sampling.  This very high in alcohol digestive is very popular here but not so with him.  However, the opportunity was a unique one.

Rambling about town.  Delighting in the history and street art.  The morning was just what one would want from Innsbruck.

I think I will have a pretzel and some schnapps...please.
Did Steve like any of the flavors?
You didn't want to try?
