Tea with the Girls...

Wanting to share my love of going to tea with all the ladies of my family (there were four adults and my three granddaughters) we spent our Saturday at Muir's Tea Room & Café.

"Located in a lavishly restored historic Queen Anne Victorian, Muir’s is an extraordinary Tea Room in the English/Scottish tradition. Inspired by legendary Scottish born conservationist and tea lover, John Muir, Muir’s combines the beauty of nature with whimsical decor, a stunning cottage garden, and delicious artisan food. Using organic and fresh ingredients, our esteemed English Chef oversees our wonderful team of cooks and bakers to create plant-based savories and desserts that are unparalleled in their unique taste and presentation. Our English Farmer grows produce especially for Muir’s at his organic biodiverse Sebastopol Farm. Muir’s signature scones and sweets are baked fresh daily and our popular finger sandwiches are made moments before being served."
Each month is a different theme. November just happened to be Muir's 9th Annual Harry Potter Extravaganza.

"Join us as Muir's becomes a Portkey to take you to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Feast on Sumptuous High Teas that feature all of the favorite savories and treats from Harry Potter- all house made in our kitchen with extra magic and love!"

Not being a fan of J.K. Rowling's epic tale, most of the story tie-ins were lost on me, though each of the delicacies were very tasty.  We began with several bottomless pots of tea and Weasley's Dragon Roasted Nuts. An Herbology Salad followed.
A tray then arrived loaded with savories: Harry's Favorite Pumpkin Pasty, Hagrid's Wild Stoat Tea Sandwich, Molly Weasley's Beans on Toast with Burrow Garden Tomatoes and Gillyweed Pesto, Dobby's Everything but the Kitchen Sink Puff Pastry, and Hogwarts Express Tea Trolley Cucumber Finger Sandwich.
The Scone & Desserts consisted of Hagrid's Rock Cake with House Elf Made "clotted cream" and imported English Preserves, Professor Minerva McGonagall's Cauldron Cupcake, Honeyduke's Cookie, and Hogwart's Greenhouse Fruit.
My younger daughter-in-law celebrated her birthday with her Mom there, too. What fun! It was definitely a unique experience for all.
"Hagrid howled still more loudly.
Harry and Hermione looked at Ron to help them.
'Er-shall I make a cup of tea?' said Ron. Harry stared at him.
'It's what my mum does whenever someone's upset,'
Ron muttered, shrugging."

... "Or whenever someone wants to enjoy
another's company in a most delightful way!"
