The Wildfire Safety Expo
Linda and I began our morning surrounded by first responders and it was awesome. South Lake Tahoe has it going on!
"The Wildfire Safety Expo is a free community event intended to provide information on how to be fire safe during this upcoming wildfire season. Each year, wildfire behavior progressively becomes more ferocious. Living in a mountain town means we need to be extra vigilant with our preparedness. Local agencies will be on-site to hand out preparedness information materials and other cool free swag!"There was something for the entire family. What a fantastic event.
We were giddy when we were given new rakes. I no longer have an excuse as to why my yard is full of pine needles. So cool.
The SWAT team really impressed.
For those who know me, getting photos with characters brings me joy. Captain Cal was too cute.
I had left Steve at home to finish up some work. When I got home and was so excited by the Expo, he wanted to see what the hype was all about. He was not disappointed (and wants this rig for his next RV).
While there, we ran into friends and delighted in the small town feel this community oozes.
This little guy, according to his dad, wants to be a fire engine when he grows up. How adorable is he!?
This display was eye opening. It shows just how dangerous a car with a downed powerline on it can be (stay in your car!). So dang interesting.
What a great morning of knowledge gaining, photo opportunities, and community connections. I š South Lake Tahoe.
