Temecula Valley Barrel Art Trail...

"This self-guided tour showcases local artists who turned wine barrels into unique pieces of art. Immerse yourself into our art scene and discover barrels at different locations in Old Town, Wine Country, and around town. See how many barrels you can find during your stay!"

After a delicious breakfast at The Swing Inn, our first stop was at the Visitor Center to ogle the incredible barrel painted by artist Tom Fontanes, a decorated United States Marine Corps Vietnam combat veteran whose brand is Nam Vet Art. This work represents Temecula’s pioneers up to its modern iconic City Hall.
Thirty wine barrels, with hand painted artwork by local artists, can be found at several wineries, hotels, and shopping areas. Each of the locations partnered with an artist, some even used their talented employees to create their masterpieces. Many of the barrel art pieces represent the businesses where they are on display.
Sarah Chian's barrel was found on the porch of Temecula Olive Oil Company.
Cinnamon, peppers and star anise adorn this barrel at Old Town Spice & Tea Merchants.
Many of the barrels we tried to view were locked inside of not-yet-open businesses. I was able to capture Michael Peterson's work through Lorimar Loft's glass door. Our goal is to one day find them all. Fun stuff.
Strolling through Old Town and finding all the treasures it has to offer has been a wonderful benefit of being here.
