Surprise Mail Received...

On July 12th, I did a post sharing a campaign to write to the firefighting heroes for the difficult work they were doing in Surfside, Florida at the building collapse.

What a surprise to receive a note in return from the Fire Chief, himself.
"Thank you for the recent card extending your support and prayers to our Department's men and women who protect and serve our community.

We are proud of our fire and rescue services, as well as the personal commitment of our employees who continue to make us, "Always Ready, Proud to Serve."

Your thoughtfulness in recognizing their service is greatly appreciated and your kind words are uplifting to our personnel."

"A real thank you does not come by e-mail.
They come in the mail in an envelope.
And what comes out of an envelope is a beautiful thing to touch
and to handle and to pass around for everyone to read."
