Chase's Luxury Estates Tour...

Hundreds of prospective buyers and real estate professionals, from across the west, were in Lake Tahoe today when Chase International opened the doors to the region’s most exclusive properties.

The tour, in its 23nd year, was an invitation-only event with attendees viewing 28 properties around the lake. The homes ranged in price from a $950,000 condo on the South Shore to a breathing $35 million 'lodge' on the East Shore. Our time was limited so we only visited three of the 28 homes open for viewing. We both agreed we picked well.
First stop and the most rocking was the $10 million Coverdale Estate whose listing states, "If you’ve ever wanted to live like a rockstar, now’s your chance. David Coverdale of the classic rock band Whitesnake recently listed his serene, private estate at Lake Tahoe. You could be the next owner of this mountain oasis with an eagle’s eye view of the majestic Sierra Nevada."

This gated and expansive 9,803 square foot residence is a true celebrity-style retreat. Privately located in Incline Village, NV, described by Architectural Digest as one of “America’s Most Beautiful Communities,” the property offers heavenly views of the clear blue waters of Lake Tahoe.
For those who don't know, David Coverdale (born 22 September 1951) is an English rock singer best known for his work with Whitesnake, a hard rock band he founded in 1978. Before Whitesnake, Coverdale was the lead singer of Deep Purple from 1973 to 1976, after which he established his solo career.
"Entertaining options at this estate are as plentiful as the home’s transcendent alpine setting. The Rockers Lounge includes high-end features like a 135″ drop-down screen with a Runco projector and 7.1 surround Dolby Atmos processor to give you and your guests the ultimate experience."
When we discovered this dance studio, I knew I had to boogie a bit. By the way, no music is playing outside my own head.
"Every day you will have the opportunity to experience complete relaxation, dipping into the elegant indoor pool and spa or sitting alongside serene waterfalls. The sweeping views of the stunning Sierra Nevada and pristine waters of Lake Tahoe will be your new Zen."
“Postcards from God on a daily basis,” said Coverdale of his Lake Tahoe home. “Every day for over 30 years, my family and I have loved and embraced our home—the stunning views from every window, the peace and tranquility, and the privacy—far away from the three-ring circus of the music business, yet a mere hour’s flight away from Los Angeles when work calls.”
Our second stop was this $7 million "Private, well built, and glamorous luxury home with PANORAMIC Lake Tahoe views" was interesting. It was described as, "Sturdy mountain exterior and interior wow factor with contemporary flair. Completely remodeled offering opulent custom finishes and clean lines. Main level living, Master & primary rooms with fantastic Southern exposure for maximum natural light and incredible endless sunsets. Take your breath away Lake views from most rooms & amazing upper loft to relax and uncork that special vintage. Lower level offers guest amenities and VERSATILITY with two additional bedrooms and shared bath or music/art studio/office."
The best part, and what hooked me, was the SAVOY Art Deco home theater. I felt I had gone back to the era of opulent movie theaters built to showcase new movies (ie Grauman's Chinese Theatre). AWESOME.
Lastly, the pièce de résistance was The Pines Estate with a listing price of $35 million.
"Your private Lake Tahoe year-round Resort! Enter THE PINES past the caretaker’s house through magnificently landscaped grounds which include a three hole golf course with practice green, swimming pool and spa, waterfalls, covered bridge, trout ponds, gigantic granite outcroppings, boathouse, shared pier and wide sand beach. The property consists of a main residence, guest house, 2nd guest/caretaker’s home, detached garage building and shop along with outbuildings. Short distance to Heavenly Valley skiing."
There is no way to aptly describe the amazingness of this home. It is truly how the other half lives (or as Steve says, "This is not the other half, but perhaps the other .001% lives). WOW! At $2557.36 per square foot and a total monthly payment of $163,168.34, it's is a tad out of our price range.

In amongst the opulence was whimsical accents that made us smile. Throughout the house there were chess sets that were adorable. It made me want to sit down and play.

A delicious lunch was served poolside. The libation was a sumptuous Luxury Lavender Lemonade. Life is good!
The separate guest house was as amazing as the main residence, with a modern 1940's decor. I could so live here!

As we ended our day's touring, I spotted this incredibly optimistic license plate. While all of these homes are out of our league, spending the day dreaming is not a bad way to spend one's day.
