Dutch Oven Cooking Class...

I am always looking for unique experiences. When I found today's event, I knew Steve and I would absolutely love it (I just couldn't imagine how much).

"Join the Northern Sierra Dutch Oven Group (NSDOG) for a Dutch Oven class at the historic and scenic Mormon Station in Genoa — Nevada’s first settlement. Class participants will learn the basics of Dutch oven cooking under the guidance of seasoned instructors. A variety of simple dishes will be cooked to be shared by the group. Cost is $10 per person and can be paid at the time of class."
Founded in 2009 in Reno, NSDOG brings together Dutch oven enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to learn and enjoy the traditional style of Dutch oven cooking. Its volunteer group encourages Dutch oven cooks of all levels to participate in various group activities, share recipes and tips, and generally promote the passion for Dutch oven cooking. After several hours with this group, we totally get it!

Each of us was paired with an oven expert. Bill was patient with me as we worked together to create a scrumptious Hash Brown Chicken Casserole.

I can't even begin to describe how delicious our dish was. I'm still drooling.
Steve's team crafted biscuits and gravy. There was a smorgasbord of culinary delights for everyone's palate.
While the food was exceptional, we both agreed that it was the people there who were the best ingredients in our most tasty and unique day.
