Day 2 in Coeur D'Alene...

Wow. Incredible. This was our day to explore this sweet, little town and also get on the lake. What an exhausting and fabulous 11 hours of outing and abouting.

Our campground is on the Spokane River with the Lake right behind us. This is where we had our morning coffee. It was serene and the perfect spot for starting our day.
Barb belongs to a neighborhood Book Club and I was honored to be included. What a wonderful group of women and an intriguing book choice-  The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty. For two hours we discussed, dined and got to know one another. It was so me.
Afterward, Dave dusted off his darling Audi TT and sent us to town in style. Everyone should drive around on a summer day topless.
On our explore, we visited the Public Library for their Friends of the Library bookstore. So cute!
Lunch was at the ÜBER awesome CRAFTED (defined: verb, adjective 1. made or manufactured with skill, ingenuity, and careful attention to detail).
It’s not just our name, this word defines who we are, what we believe in, and the quality of product we stand behind. Our restaurant provides us with a means of delivering our guests with a truly unique dining experience, incredible food, and a beer selection that can’t be found anywhere else.  Crafted also allows us to pay homage to the principles that our great country was founded upon— pride, determination, innovation, and hard work. This is more than just a restaurant to us. It’s our way of life, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Crafted had the coolest vibe that we have experienced in a really long time. I'd come back here just to dine there. The menu was incredibly unique, too. We devoured the ROCKAFELLA YA'LL: green onion Belgian waffle, buttermilk fried chicken, black pepper bacon, whipped cream, perfect egg, huckleberry fool sauce, house-made blueberry, fennel seed, & black pepper syrup. Right?!
Needing to burn off lunch, we strolled the streets, appreciating the open air art we found everywhere.

We then meandered along the very special boardwalk. At 3,300 feet (nearly 3/4 mile) long and 12 ft wide, the Coeur d'Alene Resort Floating Boardwalk is the longest floating boardwalk in the world and encircles the marina on Lake Coeur d'Alene.
After our busy day, we met up with Barb and Dave and boated to the very fun, Shooters Bar & Grill, in Rockway Bay.

Both Barb and I have a thing for wooden boats. The Madera (wood in Spanish) made us swoon. I had to know more about this work of art. It's a StanCraft. The StanCraft Wooden Boat Company was founded in 1933 on the shores of Flathead Lake in Montana. It was Flathead Lake's first boat building factory. A regional builder, Stan created some of the most iconic designs in boating history. Today StanCrafts are not only sought after for their beauty but also for their buttery soft, level ride. Wow!

We cruised over more than half of the Lake's 25 mile span (it ranges 1 to 3 miles wide with over 109 miles of shoreline). We ogled massive mansions and appreciated simple shacks but it was this lovely, little log cabin, with a family frolicking on the lawn, that won my most favorite vote.
At the end of the most marvelous day, we were delivered back to our campground's dock with no goodbye only "See you soon!"
"So you keep your ocean, I'll take the Lake."

The last quote is how I feel about Lake Tahoe. Those dandelions are so sweet. We golfed years ago at Coeur
D'Alene's beautiful golf course. Man, you have friends everywhere!
