Merriment at Matanzas Creek Winery...

My daughter-in-law couldn't have picked a more ideal place for our day than here... Wine & Lavender- two of my favorite things.

See it. Savor it. Discover it.
Matanzas Creek is located in the remote, but breathtakingly beautiful, Bennett Valley region of Sonoma County. Since its launch in 1977, the winery has built its reputation on Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot – two varieties that thrive in Sonoma’s temperate climate.

The unique character and beauty of Matanzas Creek’s winery, vineyards, lavender field and gardens have earned the Estate worldwide recognition as a premier California wine country destination. We invite you to stroll the grounds, play a game of bocce or enjoy our picnic areas.
We bought a glass of wine and meandered through the gardens. The warm temperatures were tempered by a welcoming breeze. The lavender, while not in full bloom, still shared its amazing fragrance. Bees, butterflies and hummingbirds delighted us as they dance among the flowers.

Oh man, I could live in these gardens and be content!

When the world wearies and society fails to satisfy,
there is always the garden.
