The Long Way to Reno Airport...

Our favorite route, for taking people to the airport who have late departure flights, is going up the west shore of the Lake.  The stops along the way are so worth the extra mileage.
Our first stop was to stroll the Rainbow Trail at the Taylor Creek Visitors' Center, a short interpretive trail that talks about what a watershed area is and why it's important.  Plus the scenery is amazing.
The wildflowers were in full, glorious form.
The Stream Profile was a place Brady really wanted to see- check!
Sugar Pine Point demands a longer pause. In 1897, San Francisco businessman I. W. Hellman began buying property here and, by 1913, had acquired nearly 2000 acres. His grand but informal summer home, called Pine Lodge, was completed in 1903 and was considered to be one of the finest in the high Sierra.
After lunch in Tahoe City, drinks and cheesy photo ops happened at the Cal-Neva, still an intriguing place to visit.
While too short of a visit, we all felt we accomplished much but certainly left more to do... next time!
