We awoke at 5:30 AM because that's what fishermen do! We spent the morning at Lower Blue Lake in the Mokelumne Wilderness.

Within minutes, Christy had caught the first fish. |

It was Free Fishing Day through the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. These Days provide a great, low-cost way to give fishing a try. I was happy everyone caught something because all I caught was a rock and I lost my tackle. |

Shooting followed fishing. Recreational shooting has been a longtime use of the National Forests and Grasslands and what a scenic spot to be in. |

Dinner was at Montbleu Casino for their always delicious 99¢ tacos and Margaritas. |
Home, for horseshoes, laundry and then movies in pajamas, was the ideal location in which to concluded our spirited Independence Day weekend. It was a well done celebration!
