In November, I had the opportunity to see Paulette Grune's "Reflections of the Past" and was mesmerized. I knew, when planning the Friends of the Library programs, we needed to have her return to South Lake Tahoe... and everyone agreed.

Paulette tells the story of a Civil War era woman as she slowly dresses herself. I loved the juxtaposition of her 1860s shoes with Jenny's sandals. |
With each piece, the story unfolded. |

Sitting in a hoop skirt isn't like you see in the movies but Paulette humored me and did the 'Hollywood' lift. You can really see her playfulness in this photo. |
Paulette is an amazing dressmaker having made both her ensemble and her granddaughter, Kayla's, as well. The seamstresses in the audience were duly impressed. |
Since they had traveled some distance to be here, we invited the Grune Family, along with some friends, to come back to the house for a barbecue. |
Fern made the prettiest potato salad. |
Our neighbor, Brian, seeing we had friends over, brought a bunch of his freshly caught Lake Tahoe Kokanee salmon which Lee cooked to perfection. The fish eaters in the group were delighted. |

Old friends, new friends, unforgettable memories- Summer! |
