Reno for Food, Shopping & Fun

The Biggest Little City in the World has a lot that we really like so today was our Road trip to Reno Day.

The first stop was at the Nugget for the world famous Awful, Awful.  We were not disappointed.
Christy and I shared this awful big, awful good burger and one pound of french fries.
We are all big fans of Cabela's whose 125,000 square-foot retail showroom is an educational and entertainment attraction, featuring a décor of museum-quality animal displays, huge aquariums and trophy animals interacting in realistic re-creations of their natural habitats.
Icky, by Great Basin Brewing Company is one of our family's favorite beers.  The Company started out as a dream for Tom Young. His love of homebrewing and the decline of the mining industry lead to that question of “Why not?”.  At the time, it was illegal to brew in Nevada and he worked hard to change the legislation.
The beer drinkers in our family are happy Tom was successful.  Icky is the most popular of their beers.  The motto is "It's not Yucky, it's Icky".
This was our first opportunity to taste several of their beers.  The Basin Bacon Brew (not for vegetarians) was one of the most unique.  Cerveza Chilibeso, with just a kiss (beso) of Jalapeno, was like a Mexican meal in a glass.  Sampling was a fun way to spend the afternoon together.
Shopping at the Goodwill, dinner and horseshoes was the delightful conclusion to our delightful day.  Cheers.

The jalapeno beer sounds delightful. I had a jalapeno margarita the other month that was delicious (it was like a dirty margarita with the juice from a can of diced jalapenos).
I would try the bacon beer even though I am veggie! (A sip, not a big beer.)

I have tried the bacon beer here, not a huge fan. A sip is good for me! Reno looks like a fun spot. The food look yummy too!
