Vikingsholm Day...

Nothing says "Summer" more than being at Vikingsholm in Emerald Bay.  We met with our new 'boss' (State Park Peace Officer) Ranger Jennifer.  Our friends, Bob and Jenny, will be volunteering as well so we all got trained for our jobs as ADA escorts.

During the summer, California State Parks provides disabled individuals accessibility to The Castle through a team of volunteers.  There are only two ways to get to Emerald Bay- hiking down or boating in.  For many people, this just isn't feasible, so we meet guests and guide them down the steep hill, guaranteeing them an amazing opportunity to experience one of my favorite places- anywhere.

Let the volunteering begin! How cool that your friends are helping out. It is a beautiful place to volunteer your time. Not to mention a great time of year. :) I love summer! But for me it doesn't start until June 7th.
