I had the great delight of being able to spend the day with this award-winning author of Farewell to Manzanar. Tomorrow night she will invite
listeners to ask questions about the book as a way to facilitate discussion of the incarceration of
Japanese Americans that took place more than 70 years ago. She is an incredible storyteller and I, along with most of South Lake Tahoe, am eager to hear her presentation.
But today was just about getting to know her and enjoying a little Tahoe Hospitality. After a Reno airport pick up, we delighted in dining with several members of the community. It was a special evening of new friendships and stories shared.
