Tea, Rum & Folk Music...what a day!

We began our very diverse day at the historic Tallac Estates.  Oldest of the Tallac Site's residences is the main building of the Tevis-Pope estate, completed in 1894. Massive log columns highlight the building's somewhat rustic external appearance, yet inside, the decor represents a relatively formal period of Tahoe life.
We arrived for Tea with Mrs. Tevis on the porch of this grand Lake home in the year 1904.
The actress portraying Mrs. Tevis was a wealth of information.  This was one of the most fun history lessons I have ever had.
A big tradition here is $5 Rum Runner Wednesday at The Beacon, on the Lake at historic Camp Richardson.
Live music, delicious discounted rum drinks and warm sunshine...what a day!
And an incredible view of the Lake...
Our final stop was at the Friends of the Library "Concert on the Green" with Slim & Minnie.  "Our Old West personas Slim and Minnie sing their hearts out and you will too. Wherever Slim and Minnie perform, good old time fun ensues! We bring you music of Out West including campfire sing-alongs, cowboy songs, starting with the hits of the 50's, that is the 1850's and moving along to Cowboy Swing and Hollywood Westerns. Slim and Minnie just know all kinds of old songs!"
This was such a fun, family event.  Children of all ages were completely loving it.  Just another thing to love about Tahoe, free fun for everyone.

I love tea, but I love rum more (ron here). So I guess I love Ron. I love Steve's sweater vest for tea. So sophisticated.
I miss you guys!
