Our Personal License Plate Saga

Back in May, I did a blog entry about all the great personal plates that were here and how the fees go to worthy causes.  We decided to order this one.  Since Steve and I do LOVE South Lake Tahoe we thought it was perfect.  When I showed it to my daughter-in-law, she chuckled.  After a bit of prodding on my part, Christy said it looked like LOVE SLUT.  Well, today, after waiting eight weeks, we found out that the DMV rejected the plate request.  They too must have thought it said LOVE SLUT.  "Per California Vehicle Code, Section 5105, the department may refuse any combination of letters that may be considered offensive or misleading!"
Originally we had ordered a Special Interest Plate to support Lake Tahoe but to get a plate we really wanted (all Tahoe configurations were taken) we ordered from the "Kids" category where the fees are deposited in the Child Health and Safety Fund and used for programs that keep California kids safe, which include child care safety, child abuse prevention, and efforts to prevent childhood injuries.  Definitely a worthy cause as well!  We will just have to support the Lake in other ways. [LT is the common abbreviation for Lake Tahoe so let's hope they accept this].

How did you create a picture of it before you got it? I thought it was in your possesion! I like the new one too. You went from sluts to lovers, the DMV has to appreciate that... you are maturing.
