JT's #60 on Safari Rose...

Our friend/neighbor Robert invited us to his friend's birthday party and we four gleefully accepted.

What we have discovered here in Tahoe is:  the "more the merrier" is a favorite mantra;  the generosity and true kindness is unbelievable;  and JT knows how to throw a party!
Safari Rose is without a doubt the largest, most luxurious yacht on Lake Tahoe. Built in 1959 for the 3M Corporation, she's 80 ft long and 20 feet wide, has 6 bathrooms, dining room, a heated salon with leather and teak, full bar, beautiful enclosed fantail, sun deck and even a cozy fireplace.
It was a "pinch me" moment like no other and we were so happy that our fun houseguests were able to be a part of it all.
One of the best parts was getting to know Robert better!

Capt. Clark approached Fannette Island, in Emerald Bay, at a pretty fast speed.  I guess the tradition is the "birthday boy" has to kiss the rock.  Everyone on the boat, and spectators on the Island, expressed their concerns but after not crashing, and the required kiss, cheers were heard throughout the bay.  Awesome!

One of my favorite birthday quotes is, "A birthday is just the first day of another 365-day journey around the sun.  Enjoy the trip."  I'm pretty certain JT's 60th year journey is going to be legendary!
