Our day with Nancy & Ray

We met Ray and Nancy while staying in Charleston, SC and they are part of the reason we're here this week.  Today we gathered them at Pechanga RV park and headed to explore, familiar places for us, new places for our friends from Arizona.

Stop #1 was Mrs. Knott's Chicken Kitchen for a "famous" lunch.  We then strolled to Independence Hall, a place we feel is important for everyone to see.

We then went to the defunct Movieland Wax Museum for coffee at the Starbucks located in the old gift shop and a nostalgic pause at the Stars' Hand prints.

Dessert was a California favorite on Balboa Island:  Balboa bars, those vanilla-ice-cream-rectangle dreams hand-dunked in chocolate and rolled in various sweet toppings that are as much a Newport Beach tradition as implants.  Shopping helped burn off these treats followed by a home tour and a photo opportunity at the harbor.

We meandered the coastline, taking the long way home, so we could share Laguna Beach with Ray who was new to most of these sights.

While the day was rather gloomy, the company was cheery and after two years, it was a great way to get caught up with our traveling buddies.
