More Nature of Lake Tahoe...

On our stroll to the Truckee Marsh, nature was performing an amazing show for us.

A highlight was to finally see the Tahoe Yellow Cress (TYC) in bloom. TYC is a tiny native plant that grows on the shoreline of Lake Tahoe and nowhere else in the world. It lives only on the sandy beaches and dunes at the ever-changing margin of the lake.

Pollinators were active and entertaining.

they are sunshine, food and medicine to the mind."
-Luther Burbank

The ever present ducklings delighted, too.
Upon returning home, we opened our patio umbrella finding out that this little bat had taken up residence within its folds. For those who don't know our bat story, you can read it here. Thankfully, he remained outside, where all critters should be.

Nature abounds in Lake Tahoe and what a fun day it is to discover it all.

Adorable bat! great photo. There is a unique purple flower "skull cap" in the marsh, near the tall solar pole (go past the yellow cress area).
