Mother's Day Poem by Son #2 in 2001

We've spent our "home time" going through stored memory boxes. When I found this teacher assigned poem, I had to share. Students were given the first two words of each line and they were to finish the sentence as a gift to their moms. I was teary reading this one from my baby, written two decades ago.

Mother
I am your son.
I wonder if you miss me.
I see your smiling face every day.
I am your son.

I pretend you're always there.
I feel your love.
I touch your face to know it's you.
I worry when you're gone.
I cry when you cry.
I am your son.

I am your son.
I say I love you.
I dream you are there.
I try to be the best.
I hope you'll love me forever.
I am your son.

Wishing all moms, and babies of moms,
much love and unforgettable memories.
Today and always.
