Felt Balls and Sunsets...

While Steve is down south on business and our cabin is full of skiers, I escaped for an overnight with Karen. Whoa, what a busy two days we have planned.

Karen found a free crafting event happening and the somewhat new Modern Makers. This creativity space is owned by Jodi whose core value is to provide a fun, kind, and welcoming environment for everyone to engage in creative projects.
Today's craft was felt balls. Do you know you can transform shapeless wool fibers into colorful felt balls that really bounce? Making a felt ball is incredibly easy; simply wind wisps of wool into a blob, dip it in hot, soapy water, and gently roll it into shape with your hands.

While Karen and I aren't quite sure why we need a felt ball, we enjoyed discovering a new place in which to be creative. Oh, did I mention Jodi's Friday crafternoons are free? So dang fun.

As we left Modern Makers, we caught the last hues of a spectacular sunset. What a great day.

We ended the evening, after having a scrumptious vegan meal, in our pajamas watching an excellent film (The Big Sick). Yes, Day #1 was a huge success.
