A Day by the Bay with our Kiddos

After brunch served by K & T, we head off for a hike on the Crystal Springs Trail in San Mateo (Steve's childhood hometown).

In 1888, Herman Schussler, a German water-systems engineer and architect of dams famous for designing the Comstock water system, built the 150 foot tall concrete Crystal Springs Dam, which dammed up San Mateo Creek to form this lower (northern) reservoir. So we walked in a bit of history. I love that.
This spectacular tree was alive with bees and uniquely gorgeous.
Exploring, thrift store shopping and just being together. Today was a very good day by the bay.
