Moonset/Sunrise Lakeside at 6:30 AM...

Jenny and I both love a good celestial spectacle so today we awoke early to watch the setting of the moon behind the mountains and the sun rising over Heavenly.

Due to some miscalculations, we arrived way before the moonset, but had fun on the beach anyway.  It was very peaceful being the only ones on the shore.
When Jenny's children were younger, they would make 'eye' shadows.  We couldn't help ourselves.
The sun appearing made interesting mist form on the Lake's surface.
This full moon is the one nearest to the September equinox, making it the Harvest Moon by definition.

Awesome photos. With the HUGE moon against the mountaintop, I want SO BADLY for a person to be perched up there looking down at us. Glorious.
Thanks for braving the morning chill (and texting me awake since I goofed when setting my alarm date)

So fun to look back at our fun morning. Getting there way early (albeit a boo-boo) made it even more exciting and a chance to enjoy the mist and arm shadows. Early is wayyyy better than late, haha.
