Two Very Different Shopping Experiences

On Wednesday afternoons, 5th Avenue closes and transforms into Coeur d'Alene's Farmers Market. It's small but very fun. There is definitely a sense of community everywhere.

We came home with free books (from the Library's booth), delicious radishes, and a yummy rhubarb pie.
You'll hear more about the pie later in the month as Steve and I are signed up to take a pie making class with this award-winning baker. Fun!

Yesterday, my daughters-in-law and I piled into the car and headed to Spokane, Washington to visit The Bins
Visiting the Goodwill Outlet used to be 'our thing' when there was one located in Santa Rosa. When we found out there was one only 37 miles from where were were staying, we knew we had to go. Priced by the pound, with it getting cheaper the more pounds you buy, this place is the ideal place to shop for those with little ones or those who are hoarders.
That said, we were probably the only people there buying for our own usage. Most were there to get deals to resell. It was wild to watch the frenzy!
This particular BINS is unique in that it closes every 1 ½ hours to 'sanitize' and bring out refreshed blue tubs of treasures. After our session, we weighed our loot and decided to go for coffees and then return for the next opening.
For some reason, The Rusty Mug seemed the perfect place to pause and contemplate all our good deals.

Armed with caffeine, we got back in line and did the entire, unbelievable shopping experience again (we did three separate sprees).
Oh man, the things we didn't buy!
We purchased many pounds worth of goodies and after looking at them all we realized why the resellers were there. We bought a very similar, to the above, St. Andrew's of Scotland golf shirt which lists, new, for £110. When put on the scale and weighed, knowing that it cost us $1.49 per pound, it worked out that we paid 60¢ for it. Deals indeed.

Now if we can only figure out where it will all fit for the drive home! Fun stuff.
